Do not begin with a mystery file
A safe Verity mod download begins on a full project page, not on a bare attachment. The page should identify the project owner, numeric Project ID, supported game versions, loader or edition, file history, and description. A copied JAR or MCADDON can hide all of that context. If a short video, comment, or fan page offers only a direct ZIP, use it to learn the project name and then locate the publisher page independently.

Bedrock players should use a Bedrock add-on page. Verity BE by Undertaletalelover is Project ID 1574632, while Verity - Bedrock Edition by PnTMC is Project ID 1575941. They are separate projects with separate instructions. For a Bedrock Verity mod download, expect a format such as MCADDON rather than a Java JAR. Minecraft Help confirms that add-ons, not Java mods, are Bedrock's customization route.
Verify the project and the exact file
Before clicking download, read the owner name and Project ID aloud against your notes. Open the Files tab, filter for the correct game version when available, and select a release whose loader matches your profile. Check the upload date and changelog, but do not assume newest means compatible. A Verity mod download for another Minecraft branch may be newer while still being wrong for your installation.
Then inspect the file type and destination domain. Java mod files are normally JARs; Bedrock add-ons commonly use MCADDON. CurseForge may also distribute modpacks as ZIP-based packages through its app, which is different from a single mod.
